A little advise to anyone dealing with Memory Gardens. I can not stress enough how important it is to visit love one that you have resting at Memory Gardens. In the 7 years both my parents have been their, I have ordered their Winter Blanket for the top of the grave that they put on after the first frost. Twice in those 7 years, I have gone to visit after the first frost and much to my surprise no Winter Blanket! Yes I marched straight to the office and the best they could do was offer a refund! Please Please Please visit your loved one often to find out what really goes on at Memory Gardens. Dawn (Myszka) Leonard

  • This was where we left Dad in 1964, brother in 1971, mom in 2005. I will join whenever if Jesus doesn't return first!

  • Ask for Kim when you go to make your arrangements. She has been my guardian angel.

I have been dealing with the General Mgr here since July 2014. Upon burial of a parent in the Eternal Light mausoleum on June 28, 2014, it was evident that the back areas, out of sight from road, are severely neglected. Many of the crypt fronts were and still are are covered with black mildew and mold. In June 2014 there was repair needed of the roof and gutter. Note from the Mgr in Dec. 2014: Phase 1 went well, they replaced the downspouts and cleaned out the scuppers which help drain the water off of the roof. The rooftops still need to be resealed so I am coordinating that work for the spring since it cannot be done properly in this weather." In May I was told the engraver is inventing a solution to clean off mildew. I was at the cemetery in April 2015 and no progress made;in fact, the situation is getting worse. So now at the end of July 2015 and the rooftops are not resealed and no mildew is removed, to my knowledge. Monies have been spent on new plantings and a crematory area. Lack of attention and resolution of this issue is unacceptable to me and my family. It is also impossible to contact someone at Dignity corporate hdqtrs - they refer the call to the local cemetery which is where we are getting no satisfaction. My 3star rating is due to all other areas of the cemetery looking very well kept. A 2star rating of "disliked it" would be unfair as the property is lovely - but management is not responsive in a timely manner to this important issue.

Avoid Dignity Memorial cemeteries at all costs. Thinking I was doing the right thing, I purchased my dad a pre-need burial plot at a Dignity Memorial Cemetery - Memorial Gardens in Arlington Heights. Two weeks later when my dad found out his cancer spread to his brain, he changed his mind on where he wanted to be buried. My family pleaded with the cemetery to refund us our money so we could buy a plot at the other cemetery so he could be buried with his parents and his brother. We explained the situation to the cemetery and told them this was a dying man's last wish, but still they refused to budge and give us a refund. Now my dad has to be buried at a cemetery where he doesn't want to be and can't be near his family. Spread the word. Dignity Memorial is a money hungry corporation with no compassion.
